Comparison of hysteresis identification algorithms

In this project, several variants, both well-established and new, of Differential Evolution, Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithms are employed for the identification of a Bouc-Wen hysteretic system. The system represents a full-scale bolted-welded steel connection and identification is performed using experimental data. The purpose of this work is to assess the comparative performance of the algorithms in a highly non-linear problem. Interesting results are produced that reveal the strengths and weaknesses of each algorithm. The source of xlOptimizer has been used for the comparison.
